    UFUNDISHAJIwa nadharia za uhakiki wa fasihi ulipoanza, ilifikiriwa kwamba hatimaye fasihi imefanikiwa kupata silaha za kiuhakiki na kiakademia za kutegemewa. Wahakiki na wananadharia wa Kimagharibi kama Wellek na Warren (1946) walifikiria kwamba nadharia ya uhakiki wa fasihi ilikuwa moja popote fasihi iliposomwa. Hivi sasa katika kame ya 21, nadharia ni nyingi na zinaendelea kuundwa kuendana na mazingira anuwai ambamo wahakiki wanapatikana. Makala haya yananuia kuonyesha kwamba wingi wa nadharia zilizopo unaashiria mchomozo wa itikadi zinazoratibisha kuwepo kwa nadharia hizo . Japo Wellek na Warren walikuwa wakizungumzia kuhusu nadharia katika umoja wake, walikuwa wakiitikia maswala ya kiitikadi. Jambo hili linahusu fasihi ya Kiswahili vilevile.

    Song: an agent in social deconstruction of gender

    The song is an essential part of many Kenyan communities. It caries serious implications of societal values and inspirations. While other oral art forms are controlled by traditions in content and form, songs possess unique freedom. The song is the most flexible genre of oral literature. This characteristics hinges on the fact that the song is capable of taking new ideas or words and fit them into the song without changing its structure, rhythm or body movements (Kabira and Mutahi, 1988). This enables the song to be a genre, which is responsive to change in every day life of the community. It is in this light that the paper explores the role of the song in gender socialization and how it can be used as a harbinger for change in addressing gender stereotypes.
