The study was anchored on resource based theory, systems theory and change theory. The study utilized descriptive research design. Staff of KAA who partook in the projects made up the target population for this study based on purposive sampling techniques. Stratified sampling technique was used to select respondents. The data collection was done using questionnaires. Data gathering tools were tested for validity and reliability. Both descriptive and inferential analysis were used to examine the data. The study was conducted with strict adherence to ethical standards. The study discovered that the Kenya Airports Authority's project performance was positively and significantly impacted by stakeholder involvement, management commitment, resource availability, and project team competence. The study concluded that teams can complete a project on time and only use the resources necessary to achieve each goal when there are resources available. All team members are encouraged to contribute to the project by offering original ideas when there is project team competence. For project managers, the management commitment is essential because it offers the tools and resources needed to finish a project successfully, and involving stakeholders facilitates more informed decisionmaking that considers the various needs of stakeholders, including customers. According to the study, the organization should use the project plan to identify the activities required to meet the project's objectives and generate deliverables in order to determine the project's resource requirements. The company should register for conferences, webinars, and seminars as well as training courses to improve the project team members' project management skills. It is imperative that the organization's senior managers take an active role in project management, as their support is crucial to the success of the initiative. To identify its stakeholders, the organization needs to perform a comprehensive stakeholder analysis. The company needs to learn about its internal stakeholders, which include its direct employees, suppliers, contractors, larger partners, and shareholders.Item Digital Workplace and Productivity: Evidence from Public Sector in Kenya(East African Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies, 2025-04) Too, William; Mutuku, Morrisson; Gachengo, LydiaThe digital workplace is a concept of how work is done while emphasizing the utilization of current technologies to enhance productivity, communication, and user satisfaction. Embracing the digital workplace is an important step toward improving service delivery in public sector entities. Public institutions in Kenya undeniably create a conducive environment for economic development. However, public sector productivity in Kenya remains a concern, hindering socio-economic transformation, global competitiveness, and job creation. There has been a longterm decline in overall productivity from 0.45 in 2009 to 0.40 in 2022 with both labor productivity and total factor productivity falling over several decades. Similarly, data showed that the productivity of government MDAs ranges from 45% - 65% which implies the existence of wastage in the majority of the MDAs assessed. It’s against this backdrop that this study assesses the effect of digital workplaces on the national productivity of public sector institutions. The study population included 433 state departments and agencies that have mainstreamed national productivity as provided by the National Productivity and Competitiveness Centre (NPCC). The unit of analysis of the study was 433 MDAs that had mainstreamed national productivity while the unit of the observations was Heads of departments of performance monitoring units in the MDAs. The formula adopted yielded a sample of 204 respondents from the target population. The study further established that digital workplace adoption was a significant driver of productivity, with the strongest direct effect among the digital dynamics components. The regression coefficient for the digital workplace was β = 0.859, p < 0.05, indicating a significant positive relationship. Public institutions that implemented digital workplace technologies, such as remote working platforms, collaborative tools, and digital communication channels, recorded better employee engagement and efficiency. Digital workplace innovations support a flexible and modernized work culture, critical for addressing emerging challenges such as remote operations and hybrid working arrangements.Item Influence of International Industry Standards on Vendor Benchmarking Performance at Kenya Airports Authority(International Journal of Social Science and Humanities Research, 2024-08-13) Mbithi, Lucy Kaswili; Gachengo, LydiaThe aviation sector is always evolving due to the entry of numerous vendors. Airports, like the Kenya Airports Authority, must therefore devise a plan that will allow them to select from a wide range of vendor services and obtain the best ones. Kenya Airports Authority must use vendor benchmarking in order to design a trustworthy supply chain. Even with all the steps Kenya Airports Authority has taken to implement global sourcing, including the adoption of e-auctioning and e-tendering systems, there still appear to be some factors that are impeding the procurement process. It's possible that procurement irregularities affected a portion of the government's flagship project at the Kenya Airports Authority. A descriptive research design was used for this investigation. The KAA supply and procurement department was the focus of the study. The population under study comprised 89 employees who were employed by the organization in that particular department. There was an 89-respondent census conducted. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire as the instrument. During the evaluation at Kenya Airlines, eight surveys were examined. The questionnaires' content validity was employed in this study to ensure their validity. The Cronbach alpha test was utilized to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaires. The quantitative data from the study was analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, which involved calculating the mean and standard deviation. To further ascertain the degree to which variables influence one another, the study employed inferential statistics. The study found that vendor benchmarking performance at KAA was positively and significantly impacted by international industry standards. The study concludes that the international industry standards play a crucial role in helping organizations ensure that their suppliers meet quality requirements, minimize the risk of defects and delays, and enhance trust and confidence in their supply chain. The study recommends that in order to fully leverage the benefits of international industry standards as a global sourcing norm and address any obstacles, it is crucial for the organization to follow certain recommended proceduresItem Influence of Organizational Culture on the Performance of Anglican Development Services Eastern Projects in Machakos County, Kenya(International Journal of Social Science and Humanities Research, 2024) Githu, Sospeter; Gachengo, LydiaThe main goal of Anglican Development Services Eastern is to assist communities in attaining secure livelihoods that include enough food, clean drinking water, steady incomes, climate change resilience, eco-climate, and integrating child protection, disability, HIV/AIDS, and gender issues.
