dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to examine the competitive strategies employed by three cement producing firms in Kenya. These were Bamburi Portland cement, East African Portland Cement and Athi River Mining Company. This study used a cross sectional survey design and the instruments for data collection was the questionnaire and face to face interviews .stratified random sampling was to select the study sample the target population was the top level management and sales managers. It's expected that cement firms that implement and practice competitive strategies as postulated by authors on competitive strategies are better of in terms of profits ad growth than who have ignored them. The strategies are likely to yield positive results and increase profitability of these firms through increased sale and growth. The study will also be useful to the top management of cement firms by providing information for comparison, planning and implementation.en_US
