A total of 61 heads of sections in the banks took part in the study by filling and returning the questionnaires distributed. The interviewees themselves filled out a form that was used to gather the data for this research. The supervisor's evaluation of the study's questionnaire helped to guarantee its veracity. The business institutions in Murang'a County underwent pre-testing. The instrument's dependability was examined using data from the pre-test. Reliability was demonstrated by the Cronbach alpha statistic, which was measured at 0.825. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the quantitative data in this research, while content analysis was applied to the qualitative data. Tables were used to display the results. The research discovered a significant and favourable link between knowledge management and the operation of commercial institutions in Nyeri Town (r=0.886). According to the findings, knowledge management could account for 78.5% of the success of private institutions in Nyeri Town. Results indicated that there is a significant correlation between knowledge management practices and performance[F(4,56)=50.993, P=0.001]. Both knowledge acquisition (p=0.046) and knowledge sharing (p=0.01) were statistically significant. The research concluded that knowledge sharing and knowledge acquisition are crucial to success.
