dc.description.abstractThe utilization of information technology in training and development has not been satisfactory despite the fact that the banks were among the First corporate bodies to be computerized. This is a serious omission particularly when put into consideration that the most important asset in running a business is the human capital. The purpose of this study was to identity :o what extent organizations and banking sector in particular have adopted IT in training the employees because IT offers techniques which are effective in terms of cost and time in this era of rapid technological changes. The objectives of the study were (a) to find out the extent of the use of distance training in training and development (b) To find out the extent of the use of e learning, in training and development ( c) To Find out the extent of the use of computer as a tool and delivery system n training and development. (d) To find out the extent of the use of internet/intranet as a tool and delivery system in training and development (e)To Find out the use of video conferencing technology as a tool and delivery system in training and development. The data that was used were both primary and secondary data. The data was collected using structured and unstructured questionnaires which was administered by the researcher so as to elicit higher feedback rate. A stratified random sampling method was used to select the banks to be' interviewed from the given classification. The data collected was analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS).en_US
