Abstract
Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the
corporate social responsibility practices and
stakeholder perceptions: a cross-cultural analysis in
Kenya.
Methodology: This study adopted a desk
methodology. A desk study research design is
commonly known as secondary data collection. This
is basically collecting data from existing resources
preferably because of its low cost advantage as
compared to a field research. Our current study looked
into already published studies and reports as the data
was easily accessed through online journals and
libraries.
Findings: The study on CSR Practices and
Stakeholder Perceptions in Kenya shows that locally
aligned initiatives and environmental sustainability are
key to positive stakeholder views. Transparent and
participatory CSR approaches enhance corporate
reputation and trust, despite challenges like
inconsistent implementation and limited stakeholder
engagement. Culturally sensitive CSR strategies are
crucial for fostering sustainable business practices and
favorable stakeholder perceptions in Kenya.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and
Policy: Stakeholder theory, institutional theory &
cultural dimensions’ theory may be used to anchor
future studies on corporate social responsibility
practices and stakeholder perceptions: a cross-cultural
analysis in Kenya. Businesses should tailor their CSR
strategies to align with the cultural values and
expectations of stakeholders in different regions.
Policymakers should advocate for regulatory
frameworks that incentivize responsible business
practices while considering cultural nuances to ensure
effective implementation and compliance across
diverse global contexts.
