Abstract
Strategy implementation involves a lot of complex considerations. Several factors affect
implementation of strategies, they include internal and external factors surrounding an
organization. The aim of this research study was to survey implementation of green strategy
in Unga limited. The specific objective of the study were: to find out how environmental
pressure groups affect the implementation of strategy, to examine to what extent policy and
regulation affects the implementation of green economy strategy, to establish how industry
rivalry affects implementation of strategy and to determine the relationship between industry
substitutes and implementation of strategy. The population under study comprised of 153
Unga limited employees from four departments: Research and innovation, line managers,
monitoring and evaluation and Information technology. A census was conducted on the target
population. The study sought to assess factors affecting implementation of strategy,
specifically pressure groups, policy and regulation, industry rivalry and substitutes. Each
respondent filled and submitted a structured questionnaire that was posted on the Unga
limited intranet web page as well as hand delivered. The research also incorporated scholarly
literature from journals, books, reviews and theories as secondary data for comparison
purposes. The researcher used statistical data analysis programme (SPSS) to carry out data
analysis to describe the relationship between the dependent variable (strategy
Implementation) and the independent variables environmental pressure groups, policy and
regulation, industry rivalry and substitutes. Findings were presented by way of charts, graphs
and tables.
