Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine the determinants of the Economic Stimulus , Programmes (ESPS) implementation in Uriri Constituency, Migori County. The specific objectives of the study were; to find out the capacity of the ESP project teams in the constituency, the effects of the ESP projects and the performance of the projects in Uriri constituency. The target population was all the ESPs managers. The sample population was determined using the simple random sampling technique based on the members available in the register. A sample population of 20 individuals took part in the study. Questionnaires and qualitative data were used in data collection which was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences. The study findings were that projects teams are run and managed by mature, qualified and experienced individuals, the community provides support to the project teams, and project planning communities receive a lot of support from the members. The study also found out that the project implementation process faces challenges related to personnel, inadequate funds and lack of proper funding for the projects. The study recommends that project implementationteams should have individuals with proper qualifications in project management. The government should ensure that adequate funds are providing, with proper mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation. Further nationwide study on the effectiveness of ESP project implementationin Kenya is recommended.
