Abstract
Teachers form one of the most important human resources that any nation can boast of, for any effective and efficient human capital development the quality of teachers have a major role to play. Teachers have a major role to play in a country's human resource development. The study objective was to investigate influences of schools' board of governors in recruitment of teachers in Kajiado County. The study intended to fill the gap of making contributions that will enrich the existing recruitment process in a manner that will maintain public confidence and integrity of teaching process and Teachers Service Commission. The study used descriptive study design. The target population of this study was all secondary school teachers within Kajiado County together with the respective Board of Governance, using stratified random sampling. A pilot study will be carried out to pretest the research instrument before its actual administration. Data was collected mainly by use of questionnaire method. The questionnaire consisted of structured, open and closed ended questions. It comprised of two sections. The first part will seek to obtain general information on the respondent's characteristics. The second part was devoted to the identification of influences of effectiveness of the schools' board of governors in recruitment of teachers. Data was analyzed mainly by use of descriptive and inferential statistics and presented in form of tables and charts.
