dc.description.abstractDue to stiff competition, globalization and liberalization of the economy, companies have found it difficult to survive in the present competitive environment. This scenario has prompted many firms to seek the ISO 9000 certification which gives guidelines on how companies can succeed by applying quality management practices. The purpose of this research study was to assess the effects of ISO 9000 certification on quality management practices. The sample of the study were al the ISO 9000 certified companies in Mombasa County. The sampling technique applied was the simple random sampling. The data collection instrument was structural questionnaire. Collected data was analyzed using the descriptive statistics. Data was analyzed and presented using tables, pie charts and bar charts. The research study revealed that all ISO 9000 certified companies are proactive in implementing the total quality management principles with a view of achieving quality management practices.en_US
