    Abstract
This research was carried out to find out the suitability of the biological science course offered in Diploma Colleges to the teaching of the 8.4.4. biological science syllabus of secondary school education. The survey was a case study of Kenya Science Teachers College. The sample was drawn from second year biological science students, the tutors of biological science at K.S.T.C and biological science graduate teachers of K.S.T.C from some few schools in Bungoma, Tranzoia and Kakamega districts. The instrument of the research was the questionnaire designed to find out, the course schedule as well as the opinions of the subjects on the course. The 8.4.4. being a new educational programme, its eventual success depends very much on the teachers who are to teach at all levels of learning. This research was therefore very timely, and the purpose of the research was to find out if there are any inadequacies in the training programme of biological science teachers at K.S.T.C make recommendations for possible improvement. The ideal of a suitable teacher-training programme were elicited in the review of the literature related to this study. This also more clearly exposed the objectives of this research. The results of this study are limited to Kenya Science Teachers College situation. However the recommendations would apply to other similar institutions.
