Abstract
This is a research on the factor affecting commitment of public secondary school teachers in Migori District. The general objective of this research was to investigate factors affecting commitment of public secondary school teachers in the district with specific objectives being: the identification of factors and the extent to which each of these factors affect commitment of public secondary school teachers, the relationships between the factors affecting commitment of public secondary school teachers and recommendations and conclusions of the research.The scope of the study will be public secondary schools in the eight divisions of the district namely Karungu, Muhuru, Nyatike, Suna West, Suna East, Uriri, Awendo and Rongo. The independent variables of the study will include: training compensation/reward system, promotion, indiscipline and transfers, while the dependent variable will be commitment of public secondary school in Migori District. The literature review focused on the review of the past literature on commitment of public secondary school teachers. The research methodology covered such items as; research design, sampling design, data collection, data analysis and the anticipated output. The work plan, the budget, the questionnaire and references formed part of the 'indices of the document. The findings, conclusions and recommendations were also drawn.
