    The 11th Global RCE Conference: Education for the Sustainable Development Goals

    The 11th Global RCE Conference was held in Cebu, Philippines from 7-9 December, 2018. Jointly hosted by RCE Cebu and UNU-IAS The conference provided an opportunity for RCE members to meet and share ideas in relation to sustainable development issues relevant to their respective regions through education and training at all levels, under the theme 'Education for the Sustainable Development Goals'. The Society’s target audience and members include over 3,000 academics, students, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world. The conference provided the opportunity for the RCE community to celebrate their activities and achievements, with the importance of education, multi-stakeholder partnerships for community service, cooperation across boundaries, and incorporation of global perspectives into local actions among the key points highlighted throughout the two-day event The conference was held in Cebu City, The Philippines, December 7th-9th 2018, organized by UNU, the Global RCE Service Center

    1st Pan-African Society of Agricultural Engineers Conference

    The 1st Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineers (PASAE) Conference was held from 25th to 28th March 2018, at the Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel Nairobi, Kenya. www.afroagengnairobi2017.org. The conference was hosted by the Kenya Society of Environmental, Biological and Agricultural Engineers (KeSEBAE). The conference theme was Engineering and Technology for Agriculture Transformation in Africa. The objective of the conference was to provide a forum for the private, public and academic to meet and explore business opportunities through networking and exchange of experience and knowledge.

    2019 PEBL Network Meeting, Nobleza Hotel, Kigali, Rwanda

    In late 2017, The Partnership for Enhanced and Blended Learning (PEBL) project which is part of the Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform (SPHEIR) portfolio of UK Aid selected six universities across East Africa to participate in a blended learning course and learn skills to assist them develop capacities of their staff and develop interactive modules for online facilitation. These Universities were Kenyatta, Strathmore, State University of Zanzibar, Makerere, Open University of Tanzania and University of Rwanda. The 2019 PEBL network meeting organised by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) which is a lead partner in PEBL, Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) Commonwealth of Learning (CoL) and the University of Edinburg. The workshop brought together project leaders and Quality Assurance teams from across the mentioned Universities across East Africa. It was held at The Nobleza Hotel, in Kigali, Rwanda from May 13th to May, 16th, 2019. As the project’s lead in Quality assurance in Kenyatta University, I was facilitated to participate in the session for quality assurance which has held on Thursday, 16th May, 2019; 9.00 – 12.00 Noon.

    The 23rd Session of the Conference of States Parties and 4th Review Conference

    The 23rd Session of the Conference of States Parties and 4th Review Conference took place 19th to 30th November 2018, in The Hague, Netherlands. It was organized by The Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCW). The conference was a forum for review of the chemical weapon convention operation. The conference was attended by representatives of the state parties to the convention, Academia, civil society, industry and non-governmental organizations.

    28th IEK Annual International Conference

    The Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), in collaboration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), organized the 28th edition of the Annual Engineers International Conference on 08th – 12th November 2021 at Pride Inn Paradise - Mombasa. The conference was a three-day physical and virtual event featuring paper and poster presentations around the main theme “Engineers Accelerating Sustainable Economic Recovery”. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly disrupted normal activities in many industries and labour markets. Sectors such as construction, manufacturing, transport (both road and air), tourism and many other service industries have experienced a significant slump in business activity, necessitating many to downsize. Nevertheless, engineering remains the key to the much anticipated recovery. The need for and importance of the engineering profession in ensuring economic recovery cannot be understated; this was evidenced by the key guests who attended the conference who included: A. H.E. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, CGH & Commander in Chief of Kenya’s Defence Forces B. Hon. Raila Odinga, Former Prime Minister of C. C.S. James Macharia, EGH Minister of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing & Urban Development and Public Works The conference was divided into the following sub-themes: a) Engineers in Policy Formulation, Planning, Economic Recovery and Regional Integration (Governance of Engineering, Laws & Regulations) b) Engineering Education and Research Academia and Development (including capacity Building and Mentorship) c) Big 4 Agenda and Vision 2030 d) Fourth Industrial Revolution and Industry 4.0 (Including Smart cities, and Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure) e) Engineers’ role in Devolution and County Development The Engineers conference was targeted to all Fellow Engineers, Professional Engineers, Graduate Engineers, Unregistered Engineers and members of other professions that are dependant on and work with the engineering fraternity.

    2nd International Transport and Road Research Conference

    The 3rd International Translation Conference 2023

The target audience were translation and interpretation practitioners as well as language experts from different countries of the world. More than 20 countries of the world were represented includingDenmark, France, Netherlands Romania, Russia,Poland,Switzerland,Spain South Africa Egypt,Nigeria,Tanzania among others.The conference took place between 9th-11th February 2023 at Prideinn Hotel in Mombasa,Kenya.

    The 62nd Comparative International Education Conference Society 2018

    The CIES Annual Conference is an academic conference attended by researchers, students, practitioners and policy makers interested in comparative and international education. Each CIES conference has a theme that is intended to serve as a broad umbrella under which a wide range of work can be presented, while still yielding the consolidation and advancement of knowledge. The Society’s target audience and members include over 3,000 academics, students, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world. The conference was held in Mexico City, March 25th-29th 2018, organized by a board of 18 members representing different interest groups.

    7th African Consortium for Law and Religion Studies Conference at the University of Botswana, Gaborone, Botswana

    African Consortium of Law and Religion Studies (ACLARS) was officially launched in May 2014 at the Stellenbosch University, South Africa. It brings together scholars in law and religion and related disciplines to explore cross-cutting themes. The 7th Annual ACLARS Conference was held on May 19-21, 2019 at the University of Botswana in Gaborone, Botswana. The Conference was organized by the Department of Law and Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Botswana; International Consortium for Law and Religion Studies, Italy; and the International Center for Law and Religion Studies, J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University, USA. The theme of the Conference was ‘Law, Religion and Environment in Africa’. The Conference’s key note speaker was Navanethem Pillay, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. It was attended by over 100 participants from Africa, USA, Asia and Latin America and had 78 paper presentations

    Afrasian Interactions: Current Dynamics, Future Perspectives

    This conference was organized under the aegis of AFRASO, an interdisciplinary and transregional research project which comprises scholars from various disciplines at Goethe University in Frankfurt a.M. AFRASO is the acronym of AFRICA’s ASIAN OPTIONS. AFRASO started on 1st February 2013. With the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) the two area studies centres: ZIAF (Center for Interdisciplinary African Studies) and IZO (Interdisciplinary Centre for East Asian Studies), both based at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, have organized a six-year research programme. The symposium above was part of this intinerary. It was the final conference that brought the project above to conclusion. It was co-hosted with the CoHaB IDC (The Diasporic Construction of Home and Belonging Centre of the University of Mumbai, India. The conference was hosted at the Kalinas Campus, University of Mumbai, India 26th – 27th June, 2018. A third co-organiser of the conference was the Gandhian Studies Centre at the Dr. BMN College of Home Science, Mumbai. The conference brought together a team of experts from Africa, Asia and Europe whose research work over the years demonstrates national and international scope focusing on the complexity of African-Asian interactions. Their work seen as a corpus generates new knowledge on contents, forms, and implications of interactions between African and Asian protagonists on both continents and contributes to an innovative reconceptualization of Area Studies through its transregional focus on „Afrasian spaces“. The conference was a cogent platform for me to: share my recent interests in psychocriticism as an approach to decoding aesthetic value of historiographical narratives of the Indian diaspora in East Africa. It provided me with a platform to share with a phalanx of researchers working in the same fields of Diaspora Studies and Memory Studies where my current research interests are located. My paper has been selected, among others, for publication as a journal article in a special issue of Matatu: Journal for African Culture and Society. The distinguished academic journal is published by the equally distinguished publisher, Brill, based in The Netherlands since 1683. www.brill.com. The papers from the conference have been peerreviewed through a double-blind peer review process. They are being prepared for publication in summer, 2019. This journal article publication is part of my career growth and professional maturation as a scholar of Humanities, and Literary studies.

    Amadeus Electronic Ticketing Training

    I attended the Amadeus Electronic Ticketing Training on 3rd June to 7th June 2019 at the Amadeus premises located in Riverside (14 Riverside, off Riverside Drive. Grosvenor Suite 4A, 7th Floor). The training provided us with training on the main functions of the Amadeus system including airline reservations and the Amadeus Fares system. The training was organized by the Amadeus Training Department and the target Audience was University lecturers from various universities in Kenya.

    Annual Scientific Congress for the Kenya Pediatric Association

The target group for participation at the conference were Paediatricians and other HCPs’ involved in Paediatric care and management as well as Associate members involved in child health.

    Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Researchers’ Conference

    The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Researchers’ Conference was organized by the Solidarity Center (SC). The conference was aimed at disseminating research findings on BRI activities, and facilitating networking amongst the BRI researchers. The meeting brought together researchers and actors focusing on Advancing Workers’ Rights on China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya and Peru. The conference was held on December 10-11, 2022 at Holiday Inn Hotel, Bangkok.

    The International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD) was formed on the 19th July, 1972, and seeks to promote scientific research of human development throughout the life span. ISSBD has members from over 70 countries across 6 continents, and has hosted biennial and regional meetings around the worldsince 1969. The Biennial meeting targets developmental scientists and seeks to promote holistic and positive social development by investing in its members, forming networks with an aim to close research–practice gaps around the world through evidence based practices.
