dc.description.abstractThis conference was convened to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of private universities on public universities in Africa with a specific focus on governance models and regulatory frameworks, typologies and impact of global trends among others. The conference was convened by the University of Texas at Austin with the support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. The participants were core researchers and higher education leaders from five African countries-Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana and South Africa. The target audience was select heads of private and public universities, heads of university regulatory commissions, heads of ministries of education, union leaders, staff and students. The venue was in Babcock University, Nigeria, January 6 and 7 2022.en_US
