From the sampled schools, the head teacher, deputy head teacher, heads of departments and some teachers were selected· schools perceived themselves as performing the tasks well, but the deputy head teachers, heads of departments, and teachers perceived them as not performing them well. They perceived them as not supervising the curriculum and instruction well,. don't involve teachers and other stakeholders in budgeting and planning of physical facilities and lack skills to supervise finance and business, staff and students personnel. Motivation of staff personnel was perceived as the worst hit area. Generally, the study established that the head teachers perceived themselves as performing well, but deputy head teachers, heads of departments and teachers, perceived them as not performing well. They were seen as performing some tasks better than others in distinct and in unique ways. For example, the management of community relations was the best performed while the management of staff personnel and curriculum and instruction was the worst managed task.
