dc.description.abstractNonparametric regression is used here to estimate the finite population mean. The variance of the derived estimate is obtained and procedures for its estimation suggested. The appropriateness of the variance estimators is established by derivation of their mean square error, which is shown to diminish with rise in sample size. Empirical study is performed using real and simulated data, and the outcomes support theoretical findings.en_US
