Abstract
The author describes how works by some African writers that entail literary experimentation have not been seen as serious literature. He mentions how the society have refused to grow and still believe in three Eurocentric main genres, namely Poetry, Drama and Prose Fiction. Famous African literary works are cited which include "Showhat and Sowhat," "Lwanda Magere" and "Return to My Native Land."
