| dc.description.abstract | This study attempts to describe the discourse structure in Form Two Classes in Secondary schools in the Nairobi area. This is done in a number of subjects, namely English, Kiswahili, Christian Religious Education (C.R.E) and Biology. Halliday’s categories of the Theory of Grammar' is used as the theoretical basis of description.
Chapter one gives a general introduction to the work as a whole, while chapter two looks at the works that were considered in the process of planning for the research and literature related to the present work either in terms of observation instruments or similar researches carried out.
Chapter three gives a report on the research methodology, how the study was carried out. Chapter four reports the findings of the research, giving and discussing the actual structures that the researcher came across in the various classes. Chapter five gives a general summary based on the findings in this study and looks at the general implications of the study. | en_US |
