Abstract
In this report, the researcher presents results of a study intended to find out the nature of attitudes of teachers and standard eight pupils towards basic prevocational skills in Langata Division of Nairobi Province.
The research design and survey, a total of 120 subject were tested. Respondents were selected from 10 randomly selected schools in Langata Division.
A likert-type scale was constructed to measure attitudes towards prevocational subjects. Section 11 of the questionnaire was designed to solicit reasons for favoring or not favoring prevocational subjects.
The study found that teachers and pupils favour participation in the prevocational curriculum but indicated that they face many problems that hamper its efficient teaching and learning.
