Abstract
The Finite element is an analytical tool that can be applied very effectively to the analysis of many physical situations and mathematical models of interest to applied mathematicians, scientists and engineers. The background in this analysis will involve a working Knowledge of Mechanics in general, Matrix algebra and differential equations. An example is undertaken on stress analysis by the Finite element for a continuum. A failure of Finite element analysis is that, no matter what the Physical problem is it can be expressed as a system of matrix equations. The differential equation for a solid continua provides the basic for most analytical solutions of problem of solid mechanics, In Finite element method, However, Solution of this problems are usually obtained using energy theorems.
