Abstract
This study was an attempt to investigate teacher perception of head teachers supervisory practices in Kitale Municipality. The areas covered included: a short background information about the evolution of supervision; a discussion of the four areas of head teachers' supervisory pracices in leadership, communication, motivation and evaluation. The literature review covered these four areas in addition to studies carried out in the past, on teacher perception of head teachers' supervisory Practices administrative behaviour. A similar questionnaire was administered::to-; both teachers (93) and head teaches (seven) so as to help arrive at balanced views. The researcher found out those teachers' views on head teachers' supervisory practices in relation to leadership, communication, motivation and evaluation are necessary and should therefore be continuously sought and their contributions to school administration should become significant as ~his will most likely contribute to more effective learning, which is the purpose of school supervision.
