Item Relationship between the achievement of form four students in mock examination and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination in some schools in Migori District, Kenya(2012-02-07) Aketch, C. Odhiambo; Patel, M. M.The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between mock achievement and KCSE achievement among form IV Students in Migori district. The study adopted a comparative associative survvy. The target population composed of the 2003 form four candidates in Migori district. The stratified sampling technique was used to select six categories of schools in forms of bo%,s, girls and nixed schools .from this, two schools in each category was selected by simple random sampling .To get the required number of students (240), 40 from each school, the researcher applied systematic sampling method. Data was collected by use of a data collection sheet for each school (see appendix A). 'The data was analysed using the Pearson product moment correlation formula to Help obtain correlations between mock and KCSC; variables. The results were toted using ANOVA at 0.05 level of significance. Tic result xv~is that mock examinations were highly and significantly related to the KCSE examinations. 11:e study llicrefore recommends that the various stakeholders: the I lead Teachers Associations, 'teachers, Mock Panels, Parents, the District F,duration Officers should regard mock luj;hly given its validity as the predictor of the KCSE
