Item Literature and Society: a reflection on the youth’s health in John Habwe’s Kiswahili novels(2012) Amukowa, Deborah Nanyama; Mwai, Wangari; Indede, Florence NgesaThe youth face a Myriad of health related challenges. Progressive nations rely on healthy youths who can engage in national building. However, literature has shown that youths who are the most productive people in society have been greatly affected by health problems. Many countries have put in place bodies to facilitate intervention policies and programmes at the national and local levels that include life skills information and education that empower young people to make choices and decisions about their health. Stakeholders have also taken an initiative to develop accessible, available and affordable primary health care services of high quality including sexual and reproductive health care. This paper ascertains that youth health challenges in literary works unveil the author‟s perspective in his social setting. It‟s upon this ground that this paper is written by analyzing John Habwe‟s novels
