The studyestablished that specialist curriculum for the VI in the area of training in use oflow vision devices, orientation and mobility was not receiving due recognition, as it was not timetabled in the school master time-table. Further, the study indicated that lack of adequatebraille materials adversely affected the programme. However, community participation atvarious levels, as well as acceptance of students with visual impairment by their sightedpeers positively influenced KIEP programs.
