Abstract
This study was designed to investigate what motivated Teacher Training College students to use their libraries and what information seeking methods they used once they were inside their respective libraries arid what-fraction ot'tnerr£rree tIme they used in the library.The study covered two Teacher Training Colleges in Nairobi area: Kenya Science Teachers College - training teachers to teach in Secondary Schools - and Highridge Teachers College - training teachers to teach in primary schools. The review of related literature indicated that both public and school libraries are to a large extent non-existent. This disparity has yielded college going students who lack the necessary skills in exploiting library resources which are vital components to any educational programme. It was, therefore, necessary to establish the behavioural patterns exhibited by these students with' a view to correcting them.
