Abstract
The study was aimed at determining the nature of attitudes primary school science teachers have towards the subject. For this reason, the study was restricted only to primary schools and primary school science teachers. To determine the nature of these attitudes of male and female teachers were investigated and compared. The same was done for teachers who have different professional qualifications and also teachers who have been teaching for different periods at time. To find out, whether the attitudes are positive or negative, a questionnaire was constructed. The questionnaire consisted of fifty statements written on the basis of the Likert scale. Teachers selected for the study were requested to respond to the questionnaire. It is from their responses that the determination of the nature of attitudes was done. It was found that, generally, teachers of all categories investigated, except men teachers holding a professional qualification of p2 grade, had positive attitudes towards primary science.
