(Myrtaceae) obtained from Muguga Arboretum, Kiambu District, Kenya, was extracted by steam distillation for varying times and analysed using GC and GC-MS. The optimum time was found to be 5 hours with the yield of the oil being 2.48% while the content of 1,8-cineole was found to be 55.87%.
