Analysis of performance appraisal techniques among selected state corporations
Abstract
This is a project on Analysis of Performance Management Techniques within three state corporations namely National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), Kenya Industrial Research & Development Institute (KIRDI) and Kenya Reinsurance Corporation (Kenya Re). It has been submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of Masters of Business Administration of Kenyatta University.
It consists of five chapters. In chapter one, the study introduces the subject and states the problem and objectives that necessitated the researcher to undertake the research. Chapter two deals with literature review in the area of performance management and brings out contemporary issues within the government operations that may necessitate and impact on performance management within state corporations. In chapter three, the study deals with the methodology adopted by the researcher in collecting necessary data for the study.
Under chapter four, the researcher analyses and presents the collected data using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Finally, in chapter five, the findings of the study are discussed and conclusions drawn there from. The chapter ends with recommendations that, if adopted, would improve on the current performance management programs within the selected state corporations and, if possible, the other state corporations within the country.
