This study was an attempt to investigate teachers' perception of a headteacher's administrative competence in Tinderet Location of Nandi District. Schools are established so that they can achieve certain specific educational goals. Teachers and their headteachers should have maximum cooperation so as to achieve these goals. The head should be an effective and competent leader. On the other hand, teachers should have a better or positive perception of their headteacher's administrative competence. The purpose of the study was to investigate and analyse the perceptions of the competence of a primary school headteacher as held by teachers in selected schools. Specifically, the researcher wanted to investigate whether, professional grades, sex, academic qualification, experience in the teaching service af ect teachers' perceptions of a competent primary school headteacher. Headteachers shou d aggressive leaders. At be the creative, same time,imaginative and they should be considerate in their administrative functions. They should act as good public relations officers. They need to perceive their work in relation to that of their teachers, pupils, parents, the community and his employers. Primary school headteacher's administrative duties and responsibilities should be thoroughly examined, reviewed and improved through workshops, seminars, in-service programmes by the Ministry of Education so as to make the Literature that pertains to administration more practicable and also reconcile well.
