The role of management principles in the provision of free primary education: a case of Mombasa Municipality
This project proposal has been divided into five chapters. Chapter one looks at the objectives of education in Kenya as an introduction to the study. It also states the problem of the study. The problem is shortage of teachers which leads to one teacher handling a large class thereby affecting effective curriculum delivery. The objectives and hypothesis of the study is also dealt with in this chapter. Chapter two deals with literature review. It looks at Government Policy on education as per sessional paper no. 10 of 1965 and Ministry of Educations Strategic Plans. Chapter three is the methodology of the research project. It is a cross sectional study covering Mombasa Municipality, targeting schools with large classes against those with optimum sizes. The research adopted purposive sampling method. Chapter four deals with analysis and interpretation of data collected. The data was analysed using percentages, mean scores and quantitative description. Chapter five is the conclusion and recommendation of the study.
